Dezeen: Dominic McKenzie Architects experiments with bronze and zigzags in Hampstead House renovation
For me, the highlight of this lovely renovation of Hampstead House by Dominic McKenzie Architects is the new extension, as shown here, to create a larger open plan lounge and dining room space.
Whilst the zigzagging architectural form of the extension roof and handmade bronze tiled cladding (see below) creates a beautiful distinctive look to the exterior, the roof form creates an equally dramatic interior ceiling above the dining area. The maple wood lined interior ceiling and walls create a warmth and cosy feel to the space. And the beautiful dining table, chairs and sideboards exemplify perfectly the elegant, timeless and mature aesthetic one can create with carefully chosen handcrafted contemporary wood furnishings.
The wood furnishings shown in this renovation were not supplied by Teer & Co, however, working with our new 3D Wall Panels and exemplary Collection of made-to-order timber and soft furnishings, we can help you create your own interpretation of this impressive interior design.
