A wider view of Giles Miller Studio
In February 2023, we announced an exciting collaboration with Giles Miller Studio (GMS), bringing their exquisite etched metal and paper artworks to our Collection. For those unfamiliar with their remarkable work, here’s a closer look.
About Giles Miller Studio
Founded in 2011 by British artist Giles Miller, GMS specialises in surface, structure, and sculpture, creating visionary works that redefine spatial and material aesthetics.
Giles, a master’s graduate from the Royal College of Art in London, has shared his expertise through lectures at Central Saint Martins, London Metropolitan University, and Buckinghamshire New University.
His studio’s award-winning designs have been commissioned by some of the world’s most prestigious clients, including BBC Studios, British Airways, Hermès, Harrods, Tiffany & Co., and Omega Watches.
At the heart of GMS’s creative philosophy is a commitment to sensory artistry—an approach informed by neuroscientific insights into biophilia, form, scale, texture, and colour.
Collaborations with experts in the field continually shape and inspire the studio’s artistic direction.

The essence of Sensory Artistry
As GMS articulates:
“Our artistic purpose is to benefit the human experience. Neuroscience has proven art’s ability to promote wellbeing. It validates our purpose. Art communicates with and unites our senses. It has the power to make us feel pleasure, awe, comfort, serenity, and excitement. It’s a power we study, channel, and perpetuate. We call it sensory artistry.”
Expanding our Collection in 2025
Building on the success of our initial collaboration, we are delighted to announce that new GMS artwork will be introduced to our Collection later this year.
The first of these will be a small-scale timber louvre artwork, inspired by Kyma (meaning “wave” in Cypriot), a stunning sculptural installation created by GMS for the Parklane Hotel in Cyprus in 2019, shown below. You can see and read more about Kyma in the selected projects feature below.
Selected Surface and Sculpture projects by GMS
As we anticipate the arrival of new artwork from GMS, we take this opportunity to highlight a selection of their past Surface and Sculpture projects, showcasing the studio’s extraordinary capabilities and craftsmanship.
Beyond these examples, GMS has an extensive portfolio of works that we can explore further with you. As an approved representative and collaborative partner of GMS, we are uniquely positioned to support bespoke project development, offering our Co-Create project management expertise as a complimentary service.
Falling Still
2023
London, United Kingdom
Anodised aluminum leaves
22.5m2
A reason to take a deep breath. This intriguing installation juxtaposes stillness with energy to reflect nature and inspire curiosity.
Individually angled leaves bounce light around and cast shadows within the space to create a sense of soothing dappled sun.
Its gentle screening practicality guides people between the lobby’s zones. And it’s fine materiality carries a gentle, maternal warmth which instils a sense of deep comfort.
The Stage
2020
London, United Kingdom
Solid walnut 'Alexander' tiles
3m2

A bold welcome. This reception desk for ‘The Stage’ greets visitors with a bold, sculptural presence in the lobby, creating a striking first impression.
Timber tiles reflect light like natural sequins, shimmering and shifting with movement, sparking intrigue when moving around the piece.
Seamlessly integrating with its industrial environment, the desk’s linear and angular design provides a visually pleasing balance. As the first element encountered in the space, the reception desk offers a warm and grounding welcome.
Berkeley Square House
2024
London, United Kingdom
Anodised Aluminium Pixels
24.5m2
Harmony and balance in the city's discord. Two surface installations create sanctuary in London’s frenetic centre.
The height of both pieces elicits a feeling of liberation. Vast curves feed the human mind’s need for organic forms and gently guide people into the building.
Rhythmic patterns bring symmetry that inspires a sense of grounding comfort and calm. And the constant movement of reflected sunlight stirs an enlivening, uplifting energy.
Kyma
2019
Parklane Hotel, Cyprus
Walnut Veneer
16m2
An undulating force. Kyma, meaning ‘wave’ in Cypriot, is a sculptural expression in timber, embodying the organic fluidity of nature through our louvre concept.
A delicate sea of walnut petals is arranged to evoke a flowing motion, each angled with precision to play with light and shadow, enhancing the sense of movement through subtle shifts in tone.
Installed in the Parklane Hotel’s gallery space, the carefully selected natural materials help reduce stress and add a reassuring warmth to the space.
Penny-Half Sphere
2016
Devon, United Kingdom
Walnut and metal
1m diameter
A mass of controlled light. This outdoor, site-specific sculpture won the people’s vote for the Broomhill National Sculpture Prize.
It encourages people to stop and take a moment to reflect. Positioned over water and within trees, it picks up the textures and tones of woodland nature, which soothes and enchants.
Its spherical shape is pleasing to the human eye. And movement in the reflective discs and overall piece adds a sense of serenity and calm. The two opposing angles used in its structure create an intriguing glitchy, digital effect.
